Caution: Wet Floor

Yesterday I watched a man walk into a shop and trip over the ‘Caution: Wet Floor’ sign.

A larger sign signalling the potential danger of the first sign might make an amusing addition I pondered.

This could go on forever I realised. Endless signs pointing out danger.

People forget that the only reason we have these signs is because people, starting in the 70’s and 80’s used the absence of them to make personal injury claims rather than getting jobs.

This was mostly the result of Margret Thatcher and Harry Enfield. With of who conspired to create a cultural climate founded on fucking people over for profit. It was Neo Conservatism, later rebranded as Neo-Liberalism but remains essentially the ideology of fucking people over for a profit.

‘I wonder if he’ll sue.’ I thought as the man picked himself off the floor.

I hoped that good sense would prevail.

The outcome beyond this point remains unknown. Readers are invited to create their own ending to the story.
